They created edible snow people and create puppies that would be very suitable for a Valentine's Day gift. Way to Go, MAV's! maverick athletics reportThe boys' hockey team is on a winning streak! They defeated Garden Valley twice this week by scores of 7-5 and 6-0. Liam Collette led the way in the first game with a hat trick while Marcus Gobeil, Damon Johnson, and Rylan Keck split the goals in the rematch. Logan Mazinke backstopped both games and had a total of 80 saves! The boys have another busy week ahead with a home game vs. Carman on Sunday (2:30 start), another home game Monday vs. Garden Valley (7:30 start), and a rematch in Carman on Wednesday at 7:30. The boys basketball team also had a busy week with two games. They got their first win of the season vs. St. Pauls on Wednesday winning 67-57 and lost a close one on Thursday to MCI. The girls had one game this week, losing to Elm Creek. The girl's were led in scoring by Katheryn Friesen. This coming week the girls travel to Carman to play the Cougars on Monday (game time 5:30) and host RVS on Tuesday at 5:00. Meanwhile the boys host RVS on Tuesday at 6:30 and Westpark on Wednesday (game time 6:00). openings in driver Z (old drivers' education)There will be a Driver Z course offered in March. Due to low enrolment, the instructor is hoping to share the following information with age-appropriate students. Course will begin on Wednesday, March 9, running until May 18. Virtual lessons run from 4:30-6:30pm. The knowledge test is being written on Tuesday, April 12 from 6:30-8:30pm at the Morris School. Students need to be 15.5 years old by April 12th.
