Grade 5/6's Make HistoryThis past Sunday, a group of our Grade 5/6 students participated in the second annual NFL/CFL Regional Flag Football tournament at Investors Group Field in Winnipeg. Although it was the second annual tournament, it was the first time the Morris Mavericks have ever entered a football tournament. It was a great day for our kids. We congratulate the group for their efforts and for making history. Poppies AvailableOur local Royal Canadian Legion has dropped off poppies. They are available in the front office. All donations are accepted. The proceeds of these donations go directly to support veterans and their families. We will be having a Remembrance Day event at the school on Thursday, November 8. Parent-Teacher Conference Booking ChangeAs we prepare for our parent-teacher conferences in November, we feel it is important for our community to know we are planning to use an online conference booking software to book parent-teacher conferences. The software is called Conference Manager, an application designed by SchoolSoft Technologies. It is used by a number of school divisions in the province and we would like to see if this application can assist with the efficiency of our parent-teacher booking process. More information will become available over the next few weeks, but we have decided to commit to this process for this school year. Stay tuned for more information.
