Our plan to expand the outdoor courts at Morris School received word today that we were successful in our grant proposal to the Province's Building Sustainable Communities Program to the tune of $75 000 (not a typo)! The committee applied for the same grant program last year and were denied. The efforts of the committee and the financial support of our community put us in a position to submit a stronger proposal this year. The support and the committee's perseverance has brought our fundraising total within $60 903.56 of our $250 000 goal (originally $200 000 but cost increases has forced us to re-establish a new fundraising goal)! We thank everyone for their support thus far and are very excited to share this story with anyone who is interested in taking our fundraising goal over the top!
