Class of 2023 celebratedThis past Tuesday afternoon, our school celebrated the Class of 2023 by hosting our convocation ceremonies. A total of 35 Maverick graduates received diplomas. Convocation took place in the Senior Years Gym. Our Class of 2023 are headed out to the working world, continuing their education in vocational studies, or headed to post-secondary institutions throughout Canada. We are proud of our group and wish them well with whatever they decide to do. Here's a list of our Maverick grads...

Mrs. D spent the afternoon engaging in conversation, reminiscing, & answering questions about future plans, etc. We thank Mrs. Skog for organizing the event and Mrs. DeKezel for the use of the library for this great event. We wish Mrs. D all the best as she enters the next chapter. report cardsReport Cards were sent out June 30th. All calendars, supply lists and other important information will be available on the Morris School website. If you did not receive an emailed copy of your report card please email Mrs. Denny at [email protected] after checking your junk mail. Mrs. Denny will be checking her emails for Report Card requests until July 7th. Any requests after this date will be processed in Late August. calling all volunteersThe Red River Wellness Committee has an opportunity raise the final few dollars to complete our project. The opportunity is with the Valley Ag Society. We have been tasked with the responsibility of parking during the Stampede. We are looking for volunteers who could assist with this responsibility. Shifts are four hours long and run from Friday, July 21 to Sunday, July 23. If you are able to assist, please contact Mr. Watson via email ([email protected]). school cashonline updateStarting in the 2023-2024 school year, parents will now have the option to make partial payments for select items, with the SchoolCash Online system -- available for set up on our Morris School Website. If an item is available for partial payment you simply check the "Pay a Partial Amount" checkbox. At this time, you can enter any amount greater than $1 to a maximum of the outstanding balance in the "Amount" field. If you choose to pay the full amount, simply leave the "Pay a Partial Amount" unchecked and click the "Add to Cart" button. We hope this option is helpful in managing with payment of your child(ren)'s school fees throughout the year!! mr. Petty's class earns year-end partyMr. Petty's class follows a system where their hard work and respect earns them points towards a perk. This past week their points earned them a year end party and the opportunity to sign Mr. Watson's head. Here's a few snapshots of that experience... library fun dayThanks to Mrs. DeKezel for making library period unique this week! We appreciate everything Mrs. DeKezel does for our school. This is just another example of how she makes our student experience better. field day was a hit!Last Friday, Morris School hosted our annual Field Day. This day consisted of 10 different stations that students worked their way through. There was all different types of stations. Some stations were individual events such as long jump and ball throw. Some were team events such as, the water bucket challenge and the obstacle course and some stations were just all about fun such as the bouncy castle and water balloon fight! Our grade 5/6 students were a huge help running the stations and leading the groups around for the day, we could not have done it without them! All is all it was a great day and everyone had a ton of fun! mavericks represent manitobaCongratulations to three of our Maverick rugby players who went from a historical season to making the cut with the U16 Rugby Manitoba roster.
