The date was adjusted to Monday due to some inclimate weather last Friday. A perfect sunny day met us on Monday and the K-8 students took advantage of the good weather to run and walk to raise some money for cancer research as well as bring awareness to the fight against cancer. A number of our students were running/walking in honour of family members & friends. Our K-8 staff did great job promoting the event with our students through lessons and art as well as encourage the students to put some effort into fundraising. Congratulations to our K-8 staff and students for raising close to $1 700 for cancer research! Way to Go, MAV's! Attn: female basketball athletes!Basketball Manitoba is pleased to announce a brand new pilot Rural Targeted Athlete Program (TAP) for female athletes ages 12-15 years old. This program provides females in Manitoba regions the opportunity to train at a high-performance level in the West, East, and South regions of Manitoba (see below Sport Manitoba defined map). It will help identify female athletes within these regions and provide the skills and training to better develop the athletes for future basketball opportunities at the club, school, Manitoba Games, and Manitoba Provincial Team levels. fall inspired artworkWith the leaves turning and the weather changing, it inspired Mr. Moore's class to create some fall-like artwork. Way to Go, MAV's! Grade 3/4's learning about robotsThis past week the divisional robots came to Morris to be programmed and told what to do by our Grade 3/4 students. Mr. Wiebe and our classroom teachers have jumped right in with both feet to provide this opportunity for our students. It's a great way for our students to learn the basics of programming and be creative to solve problems.
