Our program included welcoming our school's cadets (Tristan McLachlan and Hailey Bueckert), a guest speaker (Corporal Mogan from the Royal Winnipeg Rifles), our awesome concert band students (O'Canada and Shenandoah), and the first performance by our newly formed choir (In Flanders Fields). Our school would like to thank Mrs. Edel for organizing this event, Mrs. Zimmerman & Ms. Wray and their students for giving of themselves with their art & talent, and our student body for being so respectful during an event that deserves the utmost respect. school photo order deadline: November 13paint night is on!! Wrestling For all those students interested in participating in the wrestling program, Mr. Watson will be distributing information and parent letters this week. To review how we run our wrestling program, we'll give a bit of a review. We have three groups of wrestlers:
Mini Mavs are grades 1-6 students who are in it to play some games and have some fun at lunch once a week (schedule below). Junior Mavs are also grades 1-6 students who want to spend more time dedicating themselves to learning the technique, rules, and culture of the sport with the possible goal of competing at tournaments (not a necessity to be a Junior Mav). Students from grades 1-6 can be a Mini Mav AND a Junior Mav. Senior Mavs are grades 7-12 students who also want to learn the sport, learn & improve their technique, and possibly compete against other wrestlers in the province. Our first practice day will be Monday, November 20.
