Week 1 of 2021 Complete!Morris School welcomes you back from your Winter Break. We hope our school community was able to take some time and relax with their immediate family, enjoy the mild weather, and look at the positives. We have now entered into a two-week remote learning period for our Grades 7-12 students (optional for K-6). We appreciate the efforts of our students, parents, and teachers who are working to make this work. Our student attendance has been much better than last spring's experience. We appreciate your efforts and we look forward to seeing you on the 18th of January. Remote learning student attendance
congratulations computer club!!We won! Coach Conway, the Computer Club moderator, entered Morris School's Computer Club in a contest at an engineering site he frequents, for some Raspberry Pi equipment. After attending an online demonstration, participants could enter their name into a draw for the equipment. The Computer Club had to describe how the equipment would be used to further Science Technology Engineering Mathematics (STEM). In one of the remote club sessions, Jax Sanders gave Coach Conway an idea for a networking project to do over the Internet. He submitted a brief description of our club and the project. It looks like the project made the winners circle. Our computer club continues to meet virtually on a regular basis. Way to go, MAV's!! If interested...please see Mr. Watson A shout out by an order of canada winnerAfter reporting Marcia Kran's Order of Canada honour, Mr. Lehmann took it upon himself to reach out to her to see if she would be willing to be a guest speaker in his Law class. With the help of Mrs. Dekezel and former Morris School teacher, Ruth Murray, Marcia joined class. Thank you to everyone who gave this experience to our students! Artist in the schoolMorris School is happy to welcome back the Artist in the School program again this year. We are planning to host a COVID-19 restriction-friendly program with Emily Granger. Emily has visited Morris School in the past, facilitating a Claymation project with our K-8 students. The one-day workshops will run from January 18th to February 5th. Each homeroom class will take part in a workshop as a class. Their full day will be spent working on the project from start to finish. This year's experience will focus around taking the spoken word piece around the topic of COVID-19. The final recordings will be transferred onto a vinyl record. We look forward to seeing our students' creative juices flowing in the upcoming weeks!! outdoor fun continues in Phys. Ed. ClassesOur Morris School Phys. Ed. classes continue to take advantage of the mild temperatures in a variety of winter activities. Students can be seen cross country skiing, building forts, sledding, etc. It's a great way to be active and healthy! Way to go, MAV's!! grad 2021 informationComments are closed.
