We were able to work with fibroblast cells and discussed the ways we could slow them down in the morning session. Fibroblast cells are cells that create scar tissue in the heart after a heart attack, and if we can slow them down, maybe we can prevent some of the damage that a heart attack causes. In the afternoon we dissected pig hearts and traced the flow of blood through the heart, to the lungs and then eventually to the rest of the body.
