Gratitude from the mazinke familyOn behalf of Corey and the Mazinke family, we would like to express our gratitude towards anyone who was involved in Corey's Re"Cooper"ation fundraiser. Dropping the puck at the Maverick's game was a great way to begin the weekend and to see the Maverick's cleaning tables on Saturday was amazing. The moustache's were a big hit as well as the fire pit made by the welding shop. Every bit of support was and is greatly appreciated! Thank you, Mrs. Keck!Over the last few years, Morris School has been the beneficiary of having Mrs. Laurie Keck a part of it. She has been an Educational Assistant, the mother of four fine young men, and most recently the Registrar and a key cog in the machine that is known as the front office. Mrs. Keck is always willing to assist whomever needs it and does it with a smile. We found out recently that Mrs. Keck will be leaving at Christmas Break to take on a new role with the Red River Valley School Division. Mrs. Keck will still be working to serve our school, just a bit more indirectly. Her new role is an integral one that will assist our IT department to become even more efficient. We know Mrs. Keck is experiencing some mixed feelings about leaving, but we only feel gratitude for her service to our school. Although Mrs. Keck will be missed, the show must go on! Ms. Danielle "Denny" LeBlanc has been hired as our new Registrar. Ms. Denny is currently an Educational Assistant in the Senior Years portion of our school. Ms. Denny not only knows the school, but she has been in the front office as one of Mrs. Keck's "right hand" people during the busy times of the year. Ms. Denny has had a variety of experience in an office setting during her time with Westfield Industries prior to joining our school team. We thank Ms. Denny for taking on this new challenge and to Mrs. Keck for her service to the school. 12 Days of christmas continues...Drop off DAy approachesWhat does white elephant sale mean? A white elephant sale is a collection of used items being sold, much akin to a yard sale or garage sale, often as a fundraiser for a cause. Grade 5/6 fundraiser Though this would be a 5/6 incentive, we would ask for donations from everyone!! Anyone who wanted to donate GUC items would be greatly appreciated. Intake dates for donations will be 9-NOON the second Wednesday of each month until May. November 13th December 10th January 8th February 12th March 11th April 8th May 6th (1st Wednesday) The Town of Morris has a Town Wide Garage Sale every May (date TBD) which is advertised by the Recreation Office including a Map of the town and all the sales that register. This will help with advertising. The money raised would go towards upgrading the school yard (paying for the recently constructed Gaga Ball Pit, for example) and play areas or anything else the class can come up with.
