Happy Thanksgiving! lots to be grateful for!As the temperatures dip and the leaves start to turn & fall, we have many things to be grateful for at Morris School. Our students, their families and our staff make a community that accomplishes many things every day, giving us a sense that Morris School is bigger than ourselves. The friends and classmates our students have accumulated throughout the years bring colour and fun to their days. Our many sports and clubs give our students a chance to intersect between passions and academia as well as learn how to be a team player. Our teachers and staff inspire students and improve the quality of their lives. Morris School provides a quality education that many in the world would be lining up to receive. Research shows that training our brains to be grateful on a daily basis allows us to lead a happier and healthier life. The benefits include all the items listed below as well as reducing anxiety and other negative emotions. The benefits of gratitude are numerous and well-studied. The 'staff' at the Morris School blog encourages all of our readers to spend a moment every day practicing gratitude. Our world is a better place; our school is a better school if the people inside of it practice gratitude. We have a lot to be grateful for, so spend a few minutes today thinking of just three of those things. You may also want to express your gratitude if it is a person or people you have in your life that makes your life better. Thank you, Mavericks! Happy Thanksgiving! one example of gratitude...Mrs. Jashyn sent the 'blog' an example of the gratitude she has for Mr. Dyck. Mr. Dyck used his remarkable carpentry skills to create a storage unit for Mrs. Jashyn, so supplies are easily accessible when she is working with students. Thank you, Mr. Dyck! Our school appreciates you greatly! #TeamLes! Happy Thanksgiving from the ACCESS Class!Canadian Thanksgiving celebrates harvest and blessings, and the ACCESS class is very grateful for the bountiful harvest our garden has provided! We used our pumpkins to make a pie, potatoes, celery and onions to make shepherd’s pie, chives, dill, potatoes and beet leaves in our perogy bites and also enjoyed some delicious beets and carrots! We’ve also had the opportunity to taste test a few recipes that we’ll be able to share with the school population at our next Market Monday, which will be coming up on November 13th! We are also accepting tomato donations to make salsa. If you’re cleaning out your garden this weekend and have extra, we’ll be happy to take them off your hands! Thank you!
