Please sign up for a parent-teacher conferenceWith K-8 reports sent out prior to Spring Break (call the school and ask for Ms. Denny if you did not receive a digital version of the report card [extension 3222 OR [email protected]]) and Grades 9-12 Progress Reports going out this week, it's time for our Spring Parent-Teacher Conferences. Parent-Teacher Conferences will run on Thursday, April 20 from 4-8 pm and Friday, April 21 from 9 am - Noon. We have the ability to offer face-to-face, virtual (via Google Meet), or phone appointments. We encourage every parent to do their best to book an appointment with your student's teacher(s). You can start booking appointments on Tuesday, April 11 (6 am). Please ensure you book your Parent-Teacher conferences online by Wednesday, April 19 at 4pm. You can access the Conference Manager software by clicking [HERE]. Please call the school if you have any questions regarding booking an appointment. Owls & frogs can skate?!?!Kindergarten skating was a huge success! Many students who had never been on skates before took a big leap and had a great experience. Thank you to Mr. Ricard for giving us the opportunity, the staff for helping tie skates and assist on the ice, and to the rink for providing skates and helmets for those who didn’t have any! senior years concert band met their composer!The Senior Concert Band had the incredible opportunity to meet and work with composer, Kenley Kristofferson, in a video call today! Kenley is a Manitoban composer for concert band, concert choir, symphony orchestra and video games. The Senior Band is working on one of his compositions called "Prairie Wedding," and got to learn all about it, play it for him, and workshop the song with him. Mr. Kristofferson had our students engaged, laughing, and playing, and left them inspired in today's call. We are so grateful for this experience - thank you, Kenley! Or maybe you love throwing heavy objects , or jumping high and far! Do you play another sport, and want to stay in shape for that sport during the off-season? If any of these appeal to you, come join the Mavericks High School Track and Field team. In early April, the Track and Field program will begin their defense of the ZONE 4 TRACK AND FIELD CHAMPIONSHIP BANNER, which they won in 2022! Track and Field offers a very flexible practice schedule, and the chance to attend up to Four (4) Track and Field meets, including the Provincial Championships from June 8-10, which is the biggest sporting event in high school. Mavericks Fishing Club: Fish Fry & Fish CleaningThe Maverick Fishing Club celebrated the end of ice-fishing season with an awesome Fish Fry on Monday, April 3rd. The students took part in cleaning the fish, making sure there were no bones left in their fillets! The group then prepared a delicious meal, including fried fish, homemade french fries (fish n chips), as well as fish tacos for an appetizer! Awesome job, Mavs' Fishing Club! Comments are closed.
