Jets Town Takeover Hits MorrisThe Winnipeg Jets and the Manitoba Moose will be invading Morris School on Tuesday to provide our students an experience as well as an opportunity to learn. Our K-4 students will have yoga sessions, in class lessons, and a pizza party with Mick E. Moose. Our 5-8 students will hear from Moose General Manager, Craig Heisinger and his engaging Project 11 presentation regarding the importance of mental health. Our Grade 9-12's will be hearing from Mr. Heisinger as well. In the afternoon, our Hockey Academy students will be skating with Jets alumni. Our Zone 4 Champion, Morris Mavericks, will also have an opportunity to learn from former NHL'ers. At 5:30 p.m. the entire town is invited to the Morris MultiPlex for a viewing party where the Winnipeg Jets vs. Tampa Bay Lightning away game will be broadcast on a big screen. The Jets will bring the home game atmosphere to the event, complete with Mick E. Moose; the voice of the Winnipeg Jets, Jay Richardson; prizing courtesy of the Jets and Moose; and Jet Dogs for purchase. We encourage all Morris School community members to make their way to the Multiplex on Tuesday evening for what has the making for a great evening! Grade 9's head to the BIOlab!Mr. Stevenson's Grade 9 class made the trip into Winnipeg to take part in a hands on lessons at the Youth BIOlab at the St. Boniface Hospital Albrechtsen Research Centre. HOT Dog DAy - the "redo!"Let's try this again...Our Parent Advisory Council WAS planning our first Hot Dog lunch on Wednesday, February 27, but we lost our power on Tuesday to set the schedule "off-kilter!" We're trying it again this Wednesday (March 6). IF you're interested in having your student take part in the lunch and haven't sent in your order form and money, please send forms back to the school by Tuesday morning at the latest, so we can ensure your student receives their lunch in a timely fashion.
