Please use Toronto Avenue East without stopping in the turnaround circle at the very east end of the street. We also understand people using Montreal Avenue E (Hwy 23), but we can't have anyone use the bus loop for pick up, drop off, or drive through purposes. Thank you to all those families who understand the need for a few basic rules during a busy traffic time in our school day and for those who read the blog and will adjust their pick up and drop off routines accordingly based on this information. attention k-2 and new Morris student familiesFIRST TOURNAMENT OF THE 2022-23 SCHOOL YEARThe JV Girls and Boys volleyball teams both hosted six team tournaments this weekend. Currently they are creating maps that show the ecoregions found in Manitoba. Manitoba's ecoregions are Southern Arctic, Hudson Plains, Taiga Shield, Boreal Shield, Boreal Plains, and Prairie. Next week they are going to make maps of Manitoba that show the Numbered Treaty regions in preparation for the National Day of Reconciliation. Mr. Moore's class enjoy reading & the Weathercongratulations rocky! One of our Mavericks was recognized for excellence in their field...baseball field, that is! One our Grade 6 students, Rocky Thiessen, recently earned a baseball award for the 2022 baseball season. Rocky won the Winnipeg South 11UAA Player of the Year award. The Player of the Year award is given to a player that works hard on and off the field and is dedicated to developing his skills. As a part of the award presentation, Rocky's quiet leadership skills were noted. Two highlights of Rocky's season were striking out 7 out of 10 batters in one game and being one batter away from pitching a complete game shutout. Unfortunately his pitch count maxed out before he could finish out the game. Congratulations Rocky! Way to Go, MAV's! book fair prize draw winner announcedCongratulations to Christoph Sawatzky-Hildebrand in Donna Martens' Grade 3/4 classroom, who is the winner of the Book Fair Prize Draw.
