Movie Night - this thursdayMorris School receives rave reviewsThe Morris School Community has received positive feedback from numerous people for the way in which we have hosted the 2018-19 MHSAA A/AA JV Girls' Volleyball Championships. Our school would like to thank our organizers, Mrs. Stephanie Kurylko and Mr. Scott Stevenson, for their work in offering a first class event for the participating student-athletes and their families. Our student, faculty, staff, and parent volunteers are to be commended for their efforts as well. We are so proud, as a school, to see the event hosted in Morris. There's still time to catch some volleyball action as the games continue on Saturday throughout the day. If you can't make it to the school, the games are being live streamed. The link can be found our school's website (https://morris.rrvsd.ca). Go MAV's Go! Parent-Teacher ConferencesWe are grateful for those who attended our November parent-teacher conferences. Grades 7-12 student had an introductory meeting this past week. Grades K-6 students will have a lunch meeting on Tuesday. We will hold an introductory parent meeting on Wednesday, November 28th at 6:30 pm. With a sport like wrestling, we would ask for a parent to attend the meeting, so the questions you may have about the sport and the new Maverick program can be answered. Christmas Cheer Board Fundraiser! The Multiplex is hosting a Breakfast with Santa Fundraiser in Support of the Morris & Area Christmas Cheer Board. Information below... Cookies for Caring Continues...Our students and staff continue to support Urijah Dyck and his family as battles T-cell Leukemia and Lymphoma. Our second session of the student led "Cookings for Caring" was another great sign of giving and support by our Morris School community. We will host another "Cookies for Caring" session on Wednesday. Cookie donations will be graciously accepted at the school any day of the week. Yellow ribbons, a PAC initiative can be seen how. Today we have a third initiative to unveil. A few staff members came up with an idea to show support by surrounding Urijah and his family in this fight he has ahead of him by creating “Urijah’s Army.” The “Urijah’s Army” bracelets have arrived. They will be on sale for $2.00 this upcoming week in front of the school library. For the kindergarten to Grade 4 classes, students can give their money to their classroom teacher from now until the 29th. On the 29th and 30th, the bracelets will be delivered to their classes and teachers will hand them out. Urijah's mother and father want to extend their thanks for all the support the community has shown and continues to show as they continue on this journey they have ahead of them. All proceeds from the sale will go directly to Urijah’s family.
