Parent-Teacher ConferencesOur April parent-teacher conferences will be held Thursday, April 24 and Friday, April 25. We will use our online booking software to schedule appointments again. Conference Manager will be open for bookings on Thursday, April 18th at 6:00 am. The booking software will close at noon on Wednesday, April 24th. You can gain access to the website by going to www.morris-rrvsd.schoolsoft.com or you can find a link to the site via our Morris School website (https://morris.rrvsd.ca/). Students make central region honour bandTen students participated in the Central Region Honour Band on April 5 and 6 in Carman. These students attended noon hour practices during the month of March to learn their music. On April 5 and 6 they came together with students from fifteen other schools to form the Junior and Senior Honour Bands. After only a day and a half of rehearsals with guest Band directors, the Bands each performed their four songs to a gym-packed audience on Saturday afternoon. Congratulations students for your dedication and your wonderful performances. Morris Minor Ball needs your help!!Morris Minor Ball Association is looking for Volunteer Assistant Baseball Coaches for the following teams: Peewee Gr. 6-7 & Mosquito Gr. 4-5 Requirements: Online Respect-in-sport course, online NCCP initiation in Baseball & online NCCP initiation in Sport. Fees to be reimbursed. Schedule & commitment time: teams practice Tuesdays & Thursdays for 1.5 hours in April. In May they start playing games twice a week in the following communities: Morris, Morden, Carman, Winkler, Altona, Lowe Farm and Rosenort. Coaches can get rides from team parents or drive themselves. Committing to once a week is also accepted. Grade 7/8 Science Fair - a community event!Morris School hosted our annual Grade 7/8 Science Fair this past week. Students worked hard to prepare and present their various projects for our volunteer judges. After judging, numerous K-6 classes, parents and family members came to the Senior Years gym to view the projects and speak to the project creators. The Grade 7/8 students, knowingly or unknowingly, have inspired future Grade 7/8 students to think about their own projects and science in general. We congratulate you on your successful event. We would also like to thank our Senior Years students, faculty, and community volunteers for judging at our event. Special thanks to our Grade 7/8 teachers, Ms. Bahnman, Mr. Dekezel, and Mr. K Stevenson, for your efforts in preparing for the event. Way to Go, MAV's! Book FairMorris Student earns national recognitionMorris School student, Tessa competed at Nationals in Niagara Falls, Ontario last weekend. Tessa's team placed third in the Junior Level 2 - Small Category. Congratulations to Tessa and her cheer team! Way to Go! Movie NightMorris School Students take on the Rockies!Thirteen of our Senior Years students hopped on a bus in the Red River Valley and headed west to the Rockies for a few days of hitting the slopes, sightseeing, and enjoyment.
